An archery session in the Victorian Orchard in the grounds of Burton Manor.

Day, Time and Cost

  • Wednesdays from 1:30pm
  • £1 per week (limited to Friends and Volunteers)


The tutors for the Archery session are Viv Guthrie and Lindsey Lawrence. Both Viv and Lindsey are affiliated with many archery clubs around the local area.

Archery with Burton Manor Bowmen

In line with the Friends of Burton Manor Gardens policy of encouraging leisure, Burton Manor Bowmen was established in August 2013 and is registered with the sports governing body – The Grand National Archery Society (GNAS). Burton Manor Bowmen offer ‘Archery Have a Go’s’ and taster sessions in the Victorian Orchard at Burton Manor using a mixture of traditional bow types in keeping with the surroundings where, for a nominal fee, adults and children are introduced to the sport with equipment and tuition provided.

Club Membership of Burton Manor Bowmen

Club Membership is limited to the Friends of Burton Manor Gardens and volunteers at Burton Manor with sessions held regularly on a Wednesday afternoon, please book in advance. You can become a Friend by using the Friends Membership page or to volunteer, see the About Volunteering page.
